I’m a proud card-carrying throwback.
This is no more evident than by spotting the greeting cards that I’ve designed for Trader Joe’s.
Granted, I literally never have a coin with me anymore, much less crisp green dollar bills (damn that plastic!), but I insistently harken back to the days where one could buy something, with just a cling-cling-cling of a coin dropping into the slot of a machine, the ca-chunk crack sound when pulling the bakelite knob, and the swooosh ka-thunk of hearing your prize land at the bottom of the vending machine.
So, why not create vending machines that can give us what we really want?
A bit of a magic-genie, for certain, but since pens can create their own worlds, I thought I would have a bit of fun with the never-ending longings for “just one wish” in us all.
