They said that I’d love it. They were right!

Sipping a freshly brewed cup of tea with sugar and milk, I’m trying to conjure up the moments of absolute cosy warmth and welcome that I felt last week during my trip to the Emerald Isle with my fantastic son, Noel. From Dublin to Howth, Galway, Salt Hill to Nenagh, and back home again, we delighted every single moment. The people! The food! The various modes of transportation! Planes, trains, taxis, light rail, double-decker buses, coaches plus a few private car rides, we were ferried around like VIPs thanks to the friendliness and conversation which abounded. Relying on the kindness of strangers is the way to go!

Still jet-lagged from our posh service on Aer Lingus, I wanted to post this quickly to rave about the bespoke Ashley Park House in Nenagh, Co Tipperary. The site of a loving, lush, and poignant wedding, we were swaddled in splendor, peacocks, accommodations in an old gatekeepers lodge, and rooms in the restored stone stables.

Bride, Groom, their families and friends embraced us with mirth and merriment, so much so that it pained us to leave.

To Bill and Noirín, all the blessings in life! Thank you for including us in your wedding weekend.

Ireland, land of our people: we will return to your simple and sumptuous shores.
