Thanks to Tunnelbear, ITV and my laptop, I’ve joined the Brits for the newest season of Downton Abbey. Of course the magic genie wands of not only fancy internet finagling but, mostly, the brilliant team of creatives behind the scenes who’ve conjured up this intoxicating world, transport us 90 years back in time.
To toast season four, history lovers in general, and all things British, here’s a snapshot of my trip to Highclere last year.
Giddy to have explored this glorious place with not only my three fabulous children (all solid Downton fans as a result), but my outrageously kookie college pal & her daughter, I’ve added our own footprints to those who, guided by the director, play out their dramas: lights, camera, action.
